Clear expectations before work begins.
Financial work should start with a shared understanding of the need, scope, responsibilities, timing, and fee structure. Because circumstances vary, many ABEO services require an initial review before a proposal can be prepared. Fees may reflect service type and complexity, the number of accounts, entities, states, transactions, or filings; record quality; cleanup or catch-up work; timing and provider capacity; service frequency; analysis or representation involved; and disclosed third-party costs. If work is accepted, the responsible provider explains services, client responsibilities, timing assumptions, and fees before work begins. ABEO does not publish unverified dollar amounts or misleading “starting at” claims.
